Halesi Mahadev & Pindeshwar Temple

Halesi Mahadev

A two feet Shiva Linga enshrines the cave. To the immediate north of this Shiva Linga there are two pillars, which stand very close to each other, making a narrow pass. It is commonly believed that sinners cannot pass through this narrow passage and a confession only enables them to pass through this narrow gate. Thousands of devotees from far and near come to worship to Mahadev (lord Shiva) as it is believed that Halesi Mahadev blesses the childless with a child, the poor with prosperity and the virtuous with knowledge and wisdom

Pindeshwar Temple

Pindeshwar is one of the famous temples of the Eastern Nepal. The temple is located at Dharan in Sunsari district. The place is called Vijayapur at Dharan in Sunsari district. Once can either take a bus to DHaran from Kathmandu or fly to Biratnagar and two hours travel by bus to reach Dharan. Fifteen minutes walk to the Vijayapur of Dharan.

A Shiva Linga called Pindeshwar enshrines the temple. The pilgrims visiting the place can be counted in thousands everyday and even more during some special occasions.

There are two other equally famous Mahisasurmardini Devi (the goddess who killed a demon called Mhisasur), the temple of the goddess Dantakali and the temple of Budha Subba.
