ISKCON: International Society of Krishna Consciousness

I had a couple of hours to spare before I went home from my exhausting day from work. After seeing off my sister at the airport, I decided to go back to the memory lane of my middle school days and go to a place which I had visited once with my school buddies.

It was almost 15 years ago, when I had first visited this place. I knew the direction to get there and also remembered that there is a Krishna Temple in the premises. It was raining heavily. However, I was determined to visit this place in my scooter. me

I reached International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) which is located 1.7km from Budhanilkantha Temple. When I reached there, I was reminiscing those school days, sat in the temple for sometime where people were meditating and praying to lord Krishna. A place to mediate inside the temple where devotees visit even foreigners are welcome inside this temple.

ladiesThere is a beautiful waterfall right behind a garden, that made me smile and think how river could flow so beautifully. When I was sharing a few words with one of the Priests of the temple, he introduced me to these two beautiful ladies. These friendly ladies offered to take prasadam i.e. material or food that a religious offering. These two ladies were not just beautiful from outside, they were so warm and welcoming.

In a few hours, I had an opportunity to learn many things about the place and I was also invited to a festival called Krishna Janmastami, (birthday of lord Krishna) by those lovely ladies. Cozy place, spiritual settings,  warm hospitality and lovely people made my evening. One of the most wonderful places in Nepal.
